Navan assault: how it happened?
In a shocking incident, a Navan schoolboy suffered serious facial injuries after being subjected to an assault by fellow male students from the same school. The disturbing video footage reveals multiple individuals, approximately four, repeatedly punching and kicking the victim, even when he was already on the ground.
The assault took place on a residential green area in the Navan area of Co. Meath, while a large group of students were on their way home last Monday. The attack appears to have been premeditated, as evidenced by a recorded phone video capturing the victim and his initial assailant prior to the first punch.
The assault on the male student, who had dyed his hair pink, was eventually halted when other students intervened and urged the assailants to stop their actions.
The video footage captures the victim walking alongside a female student, with a boy beside her striking the victim in the face. Subsequently, another boy positioned behind the victim delivers two punches to his face. As the victim attempts to walk away, a third male student approaches and lands two additional punches. The violence continues as the victim falls to the ground, with the initial attacker persistently punching and kicking him while a third attacker joins in.
During the victim’s desperate attempt to crawl away, a fourth male student assaults him, and the third attacker delivers yet another punch. Fortunately, a few brave students intervene, pushing some of the attackers away and putting an end to the assault.

Navan assault: Investiation is ongoing
Gardai have released a statement regarding their investigation into an assault that occurred in the Navan area of Co. Meath on Monday, May 15, 2023, at around 2:30 PM. Three of the attackers involved in the assault can be partially identified from the video evidence. As part of their investigation, the Gardaí will collect and analyze the phone footage, identify witnesses, and establish the identities of those involved. Interviews will be conducted with the individuals, accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Gardai are calling to anyone with information about the assault to contact Navan Garda Station.
